Angela Sharp
Owner of Elysium K9
Head Trainer
Volunteer SAR K9 Handler
Angie, our lead trainer has held a passion for all animals from a very early age but especially dogs. The German Shepherd captured her attention and held her focus for 30 years before she would own her very first. Koda turned her world upside down, awakening the desire to learn to become a stronger leader, trainer, and advocate for her 4 legged side kick.
Together they embarked on the journey to become Search and Rescue volunteers in 2019. They have certified in trailing, land and water human remains detection and continue to train, honing their skill sets while training their new addition, Nova (Now certified in human remains detection).
Over the past several years, Angie has spent thousands of hours studying from many prominent trainers throughout the United States and abroad, attended numerous seminars, workshops and studies from canine cognition, behavior and nutrition to a good portion of the latest training strategies and techniques.
After working under another prominent Ohio training company to gain further experience working with all types of pet dogs and finding an extreme dislike for the more common methods used in the production line of the pet board and train businesses, she decided to branch off on her own.
Angie doesn't just bring experience with and a passion for dogs to the table. She also has spent many years in engineering research and development, child education, small business ownership, and is a licensed massage therapist. She is deeply driven to puzzle situations out, teach in a down to earth manner, ethical in business, and has a strong sense of how energy, body language and muscle structure affect the physical world.
She enjoys any challenge your pup might bring but she has a special interest in building confidence and rehab of anxious, fearful dogs, and dogs with physical limitations.
